These 2 Juvenile Nile Crocodiles are also resident at A.R.C, both rescued from a Crocodile Farm that closed down in the vicinity. The inclosed for the Crocodiles has temperature regulated water as they are ectothermic.
Rescue,Rehabilitation & Release
The Leopard currently at ARC is a female. It comes from the North of our country and is far larger than the Cape Mountain Leopard occurring naturally in this area. It was rescued from the canned hunting industry and was found in 2 x 2mt concrete cage.
A.R.C is also home to two Cheetahs, male and a female imprinted by humans, can never be released in the wild again. Cheetah numbers in the wild dwindling rapidly due to habitat loss throughout Africa and of course the drastic increase in domestic animals, these factors have naturally led to the loss of prey.
